Description
TASK AR Series is an industrial/occupational arm-support exoskeleton family developed by Daydo Co., Ltd. for work that requires sustained arm elevation, including construction, wiring, piping, painting, maintenance, manufacturing, agriculture, and other overhead or arm-raised tasks. Daydo’s development story identifies TASK AR as the company’s first TASK product line, with the “AR” standing for “Arm Rising”; TASK AR 3.0 was released in May 2021, followed by the simplified Type S model in 2022.
TASK AR TypeS is the lighter standard model, available as Type S2 without a shoulder harness and Type S3 with a shoulder belt for more stable fit. TASK AR X is the newer gas-spring platform, including the upper-arm-assist JRC/JRC-AU models co-developed with JR Tokai / Central Japan Railway and the higher-assist WJ/WJ-AU models that add forearm support for more demanding work

User Limits: Daydo’s TASK FAQ states the products are free size for adult men and women, but limited to users at least 1.50 m (4 ft 11 in) tall for safety. TypeS and TASK AR X waist-belt models list compatibility up to a 1.40 m (55.1 in) waist-belt length.
Daydo’s own development story says TASK AR began in 2017, the first productized TASK AR 1.0 was completed in 2019, and the product was based on/localized from EksoVest through the Ekso Bionics relationship.
Daydo has also announced a related special-application Composite Motion Assist Suit / 複合動作アシストスーツ for Japanese electrical distribution-line work. The device was developed with Kandenko and Nishiyama, with Daydo listed for development and manufacturing. Unlike the standard TASK AR arm-raising models, this passive, non-electric suit assists three motions used in overhead utility work: arm raising/lowering, external rotation or twisting, and elbow flexion/extension.
The suit is intended for complex distribution-line tasks such as hot-stick operation, cross-arm or support-arm attachment, and wire tensioning, where workers repeatedly raise, rotate, and pull with the upper limbs. Daydo lists the device weight as approximately 2.5 kg (5.5 lb) and describes a passive spring-based mechanism using shock cords, coil springs, and torsion springs, with assist forces of 14.7–29.4 N (1.5–3.0 kgf; 3.3–6.6 lbf) for arm raising/lowering, 24.5 N (2.5 kgf; 5.5 lbf) for external rotation, and 12.0 N (1.2 kgf; 2.7 lbf) for elbow flexion/extension. This appears best treated as a special-purpose TASK-family addendum rather than a separate catalog entry, since Daydo does not present it as a standard TASK AR commercial variant.
