UPRISE

Mawashi’s Ultralight Passive Ruggedized Integrated Soldier Exoskeleton (UPRISE®) is a wearable device that redirects the load carried by the soldier to the ground.

Load transportation by dismounted soldiers, be it in the form of weapons, armor, communications gear, food, water, batteries, etc. is a significant source for physical injury.  The UPRISE is designed as a disruptive technology that directly addresses this issue.

Description

The UPRISE tactical passive exoskeleton is effectively load-bearing during the entire gait cycle because of its patented hip rail and slider mechanism which transfers the load from the upper body to the lower limbs when the user is moving.

The UPRISE redirects the load down to the ground through mechanical levers and free-moving joints. Its distinct architecture is based on equilibrium and load balance/distribution principles, as well as a biomimetic study of extreme weight gain in humans.
