This passive exoskeleton is designed to provide “comfortable lower back support when picking and lifting. Using an adjustable assist-as-needed systems, EXOWAIST helps the operator lift weights with ease, allowing them to support demanding positions or complete repetitive motions while providing proper ergonomic support.”
The company defines EXOWAIST as a hip movement and weight compensation exoskeleton. The main intent is to provide weight compensation to “avoid hip and back injury when repeatedly lifting heavy objects or maintaining demanding positions.”
This wearable device weighs 3.5 kg (7.7 lb) and is meant to support 5 to 15 kg (up to 33 lb).
