Description

The Dephy Sidekick is a powered wearable system for the lower leg and ankle. The system uses Sidekick-compatible shoes with an integrated carbon fiber footplate, quick-connect attachment hardware, removable rechargeable batteries, integrated sensors, adaptive gait controls, and three user-selectable power levels. Dephy describes the product as a consumer device for adults who want more comfortable everyday movement, including walking, extended walking, and hiking.

Sidekick is designed to augment walking by providing a gentle boost during forward motion while maintaining the ankle’s natural range of motion. It is optimized for forward walking on typical terrain, including flat ground, moderate inclines and declines, stairs, and flat moderately rough terrain.
