Description
StepUp NEO Passive Back is a passive lower-back support wearable robot developed by FRT Robotics for industrial field work. The device is designed for repetitive tasks that load the lower back, including bending, lifting, material handling, and prolonged standing. It has found uses in logistics, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, and eldercare.
The FRT Robotics product page lists a battery-free passive design, selectable assist levels, foldable legs for storage and transport, and approximately 120° of hip-joint motion. FRT lists product weight as 3.6 kg (7.9 lb) with the harness.
Supplied Power: Three levels of selectable lifting-assist.
Aims at 43% muscle-fatigue reduction and 25% muscle-activation or muscle-use reduction in validation/simulated cargo-handling tests.
