Prexer

The Prexer is a thumb exoskeleton. It is made by ITURRI and designed in collaboration with research from the Fraunhofer Institute.

Description

Easily one of the smallest exoskeletons in the Catalog of Exo Devices, the Prexer by ITURRI goes over the thumb and the thumb joint. It protects the hand from inserting and pushing repeatedly during a workday. One example is pressing push fasteners during car assembly, which could be thousands of daily pushes. The Prexer aims to safeguard the thumb in two ways. One is to provide an additional protection layer between the thumb and the environment. The other is to offload some of the loads from the joint and transfer them down steam towards the wrist.

Exoskeleton Report does not endorse one exoskeleton product over another. The exoskeleton catalog is purely for educational purposes. It is meant to provide an easily accessible bird’s-eye view of the exoskeleton industry and a quick method to sort exoskeletons by type and purpose. All prices are approximate and are meant to provide a general sense of the cost of the devices.
