LiftSuit

The Auxivo LiftSuit is a lightweight (< 0.9kg), textile exosuit that supports back and hip muscles when lifting objects from below hip level, or when working in a forward-leaning position. It was developed by the Swiss exoskeleton company Auxivo AG in close collaboration with industry partners by means of permanent contact and exchange with future users.

Description

The LiftSuit is a lightweight (< 0.9 kg), textile exosuit that supports back and hip muscles when lifting objects from below hip level, or when working in a forward-leaning position. It is designed to reduce workload, muscle fatigue, and exhaustion. The LiftSuit acts like a set of additional, external muscles to unload the users´ back and hip muscles. Integrated, specially developed textile springs store energy which is then used to support the user. The solution offers an easy-to-use, small, and lightweight support system that users can wear without being constrained. Users can activate, deactivate, and adjust the support manually on demand. As a result, the LiftSuit users can always decide for themselves, when they want to support.

The LiftSuit was designed to support lifting while standing, but also to support lifting and handling objects while working in a kneeling position. Additionally, the LiftSuit can support working in a forward-leaning posture when standing or kneeling.
