Description

The NX A3-M Walking Robot is a fixed-frame gait rehabilitation exoskeleton that utilizes a powered hip-knee exoskeleton and a treadmill. It is a robotics rehabilitation device targeting patients with partial to complete loss of walking ability. The wearable robot tracks the user’s movement in real-time and generates assistive forces as needed through its six robot axis.

The manufacturer hopes this wearable exoskeleton will be used by patients whose lower limbs are powerless or have spasms due to:

  • Traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries
  • Stroke
  • Loss of walking ability due to neurological or orthotopic causes. Potentially, it could be used as part of a physical rehabilitation program for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Parkinson’s Disease, Internal prosthesis (such as total hip replacement), lower limb degenerative joint disease (such as knee joint degenerative osteoarthritis), Spinal muscular atrophy, though it should be noted that the manufacturer’s website doesn’t specifically list these conditions.

The A3-M has a smaller pediatric version, the AE-Mini.

Specifications:

  • Training walking speed: 0.1 to 3.5 km/h (2.2 miles/h)
  • Maximum patient weight: 135 kg (300 lb)
  • Maximum patient height: 200 cm (6′ 7″)
