EZ104 Easy-up

Asahicho e.z.UP® (Easy-Up®) EZ104 is a passive “assist suit” intended to reduce muscular workload during manual work. What makes it different from other exosuits is that it is meant to help with tasks that involve raised arms and whole-body movement. It uses a fabric-based elastic-mechanical structure intended to provide supportive tension without batteries or motors, and is designed for fast donning/doffing and machine washing.

Description

The e.z.UP® EZ104 is a wearable assist garment positioned for industrial and carework settings where workers perform repeated arm elevation, lifting, and sustained postures. It has been developed in collaboration with Waseda University (Mechanical System Design Laboratory, Graduate School of Information, Production and Systems, Faculty of Science and Engineering). The manufacturer states that it is intended to reduce the burden of muscle activity (e.g., the biceps brachii and erector spinae) rather than to increase the wearer’s strength beyond normal capability or to improve athletic performance.

The suit is described as battery-free and designed to support multi-directional movement (including left-right and diagonal motion). It includes adjustable support/tension, claims quick attachment/removal in about 60 s (1 min), and is marketed as machine washable when placed in a storage bag/laundry net with closures fastened.

Best for: Work assistance for factories; transportation/warehousing; agricultural work; construction work; nursing-home care (as listed by the manufacturer)
