Description
Asahicho e.z.UP® (Easy-Up®) EZ105 is a passive textile exosuit developed with Waseda University. The Asahicho e.z.UP® EZ105 is the newer version of the Easy-Up assist suit and replaces the EZ104 in the Exoskeleton Report catalog. Assistance and applications
Asahicho describes support for the arms, lower back, and knees during lifting, lowering, carrying, and repetitive work. The textile structure accommodates lateral and diagonal movements as well as vertical motion. Intended settings include logistics, manufacturing, construction, agriculture and care work. The manufacturer cautions that the suit does not increase strength beyond the wearer’s own capability or treat illness. It is therefore not a substitute for appropriate load limits and task design (and this is true of virtually all occupational exoskeletons listed on ExR).

Fit and operation
Wear the vest over clothing, with elbow braces, knee sections, and straps reaching around the feet. The manufacturer’s instructions show backpack-style donning, buckle closure, elbow and knee positioning, and strap-length and back-tension adjustment. Shoes need not be removed. You can loosen the tension for a break; you can reposition the straps for toilet use. Check compatibility with particular protective clothing or footwear rather than assuming it.
Care and inspection
Written instructions as of Nov 2026 list that machine washing is permitted without disassembly in the supplied laundry net, with fasteners closed and mild detergent. Avoid fabric softener, bleach, ironing, tumble drying, and dry cleaning. No fixed service-life or scheduled replacement interval was listed. Inspect for tears or damage before use, replace damaged equipment, and check the producer’s website for updates.
Availability and relationship to EZ104
Waseda University documented the EZ105’s presentation at A+A in November 2025 (source: Waseda introduction announcement), describing it as the latest jointly developed Easy-Up model. Compared with ExR’s historical EZ104 entry, the current EZ105 sources use paired size names and provide chest criteria and different height starting points.
