MATE-XT GO

MATE-XT GO is a passive upper-limb exoskeleton from Comau for supporting the arms and shoulders during repetitive or overhead work. It is designed for industrial, construction, logistics, agriculture, and skilled-trade applications, with Comau claiming up to 50% reduction in muscle and perceived effort during relevant tasks.

Description

MATE-XT GO is a lightweight shoulder-support exoskeleton in Comau’s MATE wearable robotics series. Introduced in 2026, it is intended for workers performing repetitive or overhead arm tasks such as underbody assembly, finishing, overhead tool handling, drywall installation, painting, electrical cabling, high-rack picking, sorting, fruit picking, and overhead pruning. Comau states that its development of MATE-XT GO builds on real-world experience from more than 3,000 companies already using MATE exoskeletons internationally.

The device is a fully passive, spring-based system with no motors or batteries. It provides 8 adjustable assistance levels for both arms and uses passive degrees of freedom to align with the shoulder’s physiological movement while preserving operational freedom. Comau states that MATE-XT GO was developed in close collaboration with IUVO and is certified as Category II Personal Protective Equipment under EU Regulation 2016/425.

Weight of Device: Less than 3 kg (6.6 lb).
