Description
The S1 is described by TransitX as a “Waist Robot Walker” for people with mobility issues. It is worn around the waist/hip area and upper legs, and its control system uses sensors in the motors and joints to interpret the user’s movement intent and synchronize powered assistance during walking, climbing, and other movement scenarios. Public materials list servo motors, 17 Nm (12.5 lb-ft) motor output, three modes with eight assistance levels, 3 – 4 hours of battery life, and a suitable user height range of 1.5 – 2.0 m (4 ft 11 in – 6 ft 7 in).
