Description
TASK AR +SE could be cataloged as an exoskeleton-adjacent wearable assistive orthosis rather than a full shoulder or arm exoskeleton. It is intended to reduce load on the forearm and elbow during continuous tasks involving relatively light objects or tools of about 5 kg (11 lb), such as painting, fixed-angle tool use, or gimbal/stabilizer camera work.
The device assists elbow flexion through spring reaction force and can increase forearm holding ability through a latch mechanism. Daydo describes the latch as starting assistance when the arm is extended within a 0 – 90° range and releasing after use by bending the elbow to 90°.
Application(s): Forearm and elbow support for continuous light-object or light-tool work; painting; fixed-angle tool work; gimbal/stabilizer camera work.
Weight of Device: 0.58 kg (1.28 lb)
Assist force: 0.98–9.8 N (0.1–1.0 kgf; 0.22–2.2 lbf).
