Description
The PLUM’ is a light-weight, passive, shoulder support exoskeleton by the French company Human Mechanical Technologies (HMT). It is a 100% purely mechanical wearable device. The exoskeleton weighs 1.5kg, making it one of the lighter shoulder-support exos. It can provide anywhere from 1kg to 6kg of assistive force. Its primary application would be for occupations that have prolonged or repetitive static tasks requiring the user’s arms to be raised or outstretched.
Unlike most shoulder-support passive exoskeletons, the PLUM’ provides support directly below the arms. This design likely contributes to its lower weight. HMT also offers a larger passive exoskeleton, the LIGHT’.
