Description
The Lowebacker is a soft exosuit by MedExo. It has a series of elastic and non-elastic bands that run across the back of the user. These bands are designed to unload the lumbar spine, reducing injuries and fatigue.
When worn correctly and selected for the right repetitive work task, the exo can increase endurance by up to 40%. It is small enough to allow for sitting or operating a forklift without having to remove it. The entire system weighs only 2.2 kg (4.8 lb). It also comes with an optional semi-rigid belt specifically for rigging work.
The exosuit is best for individuals 60 to 95 kg (132 lb to 209 lb) in weight. One thing that is unusual about the Lowebacker is that it has straps that go under the sole of any shoe, compared to relying on straps at the thighs.
