IX BACK

The IX-BACK passive exoskeleton is a passive back support exoskeleton. It is the larger cousin to the IX BACK AIR, also offered from SUITX by Ottobock. It is ideal for pick-and-carry or repetitive tasks that require leaning forward.

Description

The IX BACK is the spiritual successor of the Paexo Back. Both are meant to offload as much as 25 kg (55 lb) from the back. The intent is to reduce fatigue and injury to the lower back for repetitive tasks requiring repetitive bending forward or in a static position. That, in turn, should lead to fewer employee absence days.

Technical specifications (circa May 2020):

  • relieve up to 60% of the back
  • suitable for handling loads of up to 20 kg (44 lb)
  • support level can be easily adjusted by a rotating knob at the hip
  • encourages correct body posture
  • easy to don or doff

Exoskeleton Report does not endorse one exoskeleton product over another. The exoskeleton catalog is purely for educational purposes.  The catalog is meant to provide an easily accessible birds-eye view of the exoskeleton industry, and a quick method to sort exoskeletons by type and purpose. All prices are approximate and are meant to provide a general sense of the cost of the devices.
