Description

The EXPLORER is a wearable robotic exoskeleton designed to assist children with neurodevelopmental disorders and mobility impairments in walking. Developed by Marsi Bionics, the system is intended for use in everyday environments such as homes, schools, and playgrounds. It aims to provide rehabilitation and support outside clinical settings by mimicking natural gait patterns and enabling active movement. The device is adjustable to fit a wide age and size range and includes hybrid functionality, allowing users to walk and sit.

Technical Specifications:

  • Target Age Range: 2–17 years
  • User Height Range: Accommodates femur lengths of 21–36 cm and tibia lengths of 20–35 cm
  • Maximum User Weight: 60 kg (132 lb)

  • Degrees of Freedom: 6 powered joints (hip, knee, and ankle)

  • Clinical Validation: Tested in collaboration with Spanish hospitals for conditions such as cerebral palsy, muscular atrophy, and spinal muscular atrophy
