Awaist Lumbar Assist

The SEEPPO Awaist Lumbar Assist Exoskeleton is a passive lumbar/back-assist exoskeleton from Guangzhou Shipeng Technology Co., Ltd. It is designed for frequent bending and material-handling tasks, using a mechanical energy-storage structure to transfer loads carried by the exoskeleton and reduce strain on the waist and arms. The device includes an over-the-shoulder arm/hook structure for carrying objects, leg restraints, and waist-mounted components.

Description

The Awaist Lumbar Assist Exoskeleton is part of SEEPPO’s passive exoskeleton series and is intended for work scenarios involving frequent bending, lifting, and carrying. SEEPPO describes the device as transferring the weight of handled objects through the exoskeleton’s mechanical structure to reduce waist muscle fatigue, joint strain, and pressure in the L5/S1 disc area during bending and carrying tasks. Idea for workshops, material handling, logistics handling, garden planting, mining operations, and medical operations as application scenarios.

The product uses a mechanical energy-storage system with customized composite materials, and SEEPPO lists carbon fiber, aviation aluminum alloy, glass-fiber nylon, and other lightweight load-bearing materials in the structure. A notable feature is the over-the-shoulder arm/hook system, described on the English page as a “prosthetic arm” structure with hooks that can reduce the arm strength needed when carrying objects and transfer heavy loads to the exoskeleton. Different hook shapes are listed for rectangular items, such as cardboard boxes, and curved objects, such as fire pumps or water buckets.

Weight of Device: 2.3 kg (5.1 lb)

User Limits: Suitable wearer height listed as 1.60–1.90 m (5 ft 3 in–6 ft 3 in)

Notes:

  • Product parameters list the maximum carrying weight as 60 kg (132 lb) and the assisting efficiency as 30%.
  • Donning/doffing time is listed as ≤30 s.
  • Manufacturer claims include ≥30% weight-reduction effect and 29.8% lower average energy consumption.
