NASA’s X1 Gets Powered Ankles

IHMC NASA JSC X1 Exoskeleton Powered with UT-SEA Ankles - UT Human Centered Robotics Lab

This video showcases a collaboration between the University of Austin and NASA. In it the X1 Exoskeleton has been upgraded with powered ankles.

NASA has expressed some interest in exoskeleton technology.  Their primary application has been a free weight substitute for exercise in zero gravity environment.  NASA has also worked on force feedback technology and robots that resemble the same technology used in their exoskeleton.
