Description
The SEEPPO ALoad family consists of passive load-transfer exoskeletons designed to reduce the user’s perceived burden when carrying external loads or wearing heavy protective equipment. The ALoad-H is the heavy-load version, intended for long-distance loaded movement and field applications. The ALoad-L is the lighter, more flexible equipment-carrying version, positioned for moderate loads and customizable equipment interfaces. The ALoad-LQ is a specialized medical/radiology variant designed to reduce the weight and heat burden associated with wearing lead protective clothing.
The models differ mainly in the carried-load target, structure, and intended user environment. ALoad-H has the highest listed carrying capacity, with a 110 kg (243 lb) maximum carrying weight and 35 kg (77 lb) rated carrying weight. ALoad-L reduces the maximum and rated loads to 70 kg (154 lb) and 20 kg (44 lb), respectively, in exchange for lower device weight and improved flexibility for equipment piggybacking. ALoad-LQ is the most specialized model, with a 15 kg (33 lb) maximum carrying weight and 8 kg (18 lb) rated carrying weight, plus foldable, removable, washable, and disinfectable wearable components for use with lead suits.
Applications: Load carriage; field work; emergency rescue; heavy marching; outdoor hiking; forest firefighting; equipment piggybacking; grid inspection; battlefield medicine; medical lead-suit support
Exoskeleton Characteristics (notable features): Gravity redistirubtion / gravity compensation / mechanical load-transfer / load-reduction structure; carbon fiber, aviation aluminum alloy, glass-fiber nylon, and other lightweight load-bearing materials; adjustable fit for different body sizes; quick donning/doffing hardware; shoe or lower-limb load-transfer modules; model-specific carrying or protective-equipment interfaces.
Model Differences
ALoad-H Load Mobile Exoskeleton
- Heavy-load carriage model
- Main use: Long-distance loaded movement, field work, emergency rescue, heavy marching, outdoor hiking, forest fire protection
- Weight of Device: 5.5 kg (12.1 lb)
- Maximum Carrying Weight: 110 kg (243 lb)
- Rated Carrying Weight: 35 kg (77 lb)
- Listed Assist / Load-Reduction Efficiency: 70% while standing; 45% while walking
- User Limits: Suitable wearer height listed as 1.60–1.90 m (5 ft 3 in–6 ft 3 in)
- Distinguishing Features: Highest-capacity model in the family; SEEPPO describes it as a pure mechanical passive exoskeleton for long-distance load-bearing scenarios, with the load transmitted through the mechanical structure to reduce burden on the wearer.
ALoad-L Device Piggyback Exoskeleton
- Â Lighter, more flexible equipment-carrying model
- Weight of Device: 4.2 kg (9.3 lb)
- Maximum Carrying Weight: 70 kg (154 lb)
- Rated Carrying Weight: 20 kg (44 lb)
- Listed Assist / Load-Reduction Efficiency: 60% while standing; 40% while walking
- User Limits: Suitable wearer height listed as 1.60–1.90 m (5 ft 3 in–6 ft 3 in)
- Distinguishing Features: SEEPPO positions this model as balancing load capacity and flexibility rather than maximizing total carried load. The page specifically mentions customizable equipment interfaces for coal mining and emergency-industry equipment, including examples such as a BG4 ventilator and blower model.
ALoad-LQ Lead Suit Exoskeleton
- Lead-apron / lead-suit support model
- Main use: Medical lead protective clothing support for medical personnel
- Weight of Device: 3.8 kg (8.4 lb)
- Maximum Carrying Weight: 15 kg (33 lb)
- Rated Carrying Weight: 8 kg (18 lb)
- Listed Assist / Load-Reduction Efficiency: 60% while standing; 40% while walking
- User Limits: Suitable wearer height listed as 1.55–1.90 m (5 ft 1 in–6 ft 3 in)
- Distinguishing Features: Specialized for lead suits rather than backpacks or carried equipment. SEEPPO describes it as transferring lead-suit weight toward the ground through an R-rex load-reduction system, with antibacterial/easy-clean wearable materials, removable washable components, and a foldable structure for storage with the lead clothing.
