WearRAcon18: What to expect from the world’s biggest wearable robotics event!

WearRAcon18 March 21-23, 2018

The 2018 Wearable Robotics Association Conference, WearRAcon18, is scheduled for March 21-23 at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale Arizona.  This will be the third annual WearRAcon.  Don’t let the name of the location deceive you, Scottsdale is directly adjacent to Phoenix, and all three of these exoskeleton signature events will have been held close to each other within The Grand Canyon State.

If the past two years can be any indicator, WearRAcon18 will be a must-go event for those interested in wearable robotics, exoskeletons, exosuits, rehabilitation technology, and ergonomics.  Similar to other technical gatherings, it will be filled with keynote presentations, panels, and product demonstrations.  But WearRAcon18 is much more than the sum of its parts.  It is the one event that brings all aspects of the exoskeleton industry together as a community.  Technology improves and changes so rapidly it can be hard to keep up with new developments or changing customer needs.  This is your chance to connect, share your thoughts, ask questions, and get information directly from the source.

Just some of the organizations that attended WearRAcon17.

Last year, the conference attracted over 104 organizations from 20 different countries!  That were so many, their logos couldn’t all fit in the image above.

The WearRAcon18 organizers bring together the leaders from some of the most cutting-edge companies developing wearable technologies worldwide.  But just bringing people together under one roof is not enough, so the conference will be sprinkled with opportunities for people with different backgrounds to engage with each other.  Last year, the Bridge Program aimed to bring small companies together with their larger counterparts and provided a platform for short elevator pitches.  Entrepreneurs that competed in the Innovation Challenge presented their creations on the main conference stage and attendees from all corners of the globe voted for the crowd favorite.  (Did we also mention how to register for the 2018 Innovation Challenge?)

Above everything else, WearRAcon18 is an opportunity for researchers, developers, regulators, professors, users, buyers, students, and just those with a general interest in exoskeletons to come to the same place and interact with each other.  At WearRAcon any hallway or table conversation can be a surprise.  Chat with device testers from the military on the challenges they face evaluating wearables while comparing desserts with a CEO of a medical exoskeleton company?  At this conference that is the norm!  Whether you are interested in design, application, testing, standardization, motion control, or business, WearRAcon18 will have something for you, no matter what draws you to this technology.
