OCALIS is a Turkish developer of passive occupational exoskeletons based at ULUTEK Technology Development Zone in Bursa. Founded in 2020, the company focuses on wearable support systems for repetitive physical work, with applications in automotive manufacturing, aviation, logistics, machinery, agriculture, and other physically demanding industries.
Its product range addresses shoulder and upper-arm support, back support during lifting and forward bending, and neck support during tasks that require looking upward. These devices operate without batteries or an external power supply. The company emphasizes lightweight construction, ease of donning and doffing, and breathable, washable fabrics.
OCALIS’s development work includes collaboration with Bursa Uludağ University. A 2023 study published in Applied Sciences examined a passive upper-extremity exoskeleton developed through this collaboration, measuring muscle activity during overhead and forward-reaching tool-handling tasks. The team conducted testing at Eskişehir Technical University’s Motion and Motor Control Laboratory.
Alongside its wearable hardware, OCALIS has promoted an AI-based ergonomics tool for assessing working postures from short videos using the REBA method. The company has also announced international commercialization partnerships, including European distribution arrangements and a collaboration with EtaVista to support promotion and sales in the United States.
