Liftya is developing a low-profile shoulder-assisting brace for home and clinical use that aims to reduce pain while preserving range of motion. Its technology is based on the patented CXD spherical hinge mechanism, which the company says replicates natural shoulder behavior and supports patients with conditions such as stroke, brachial plexus injury, rotator cuff damage, and post-surgical shoulder instability. The company’s public team includes Alberto Verteramo as CEO & Founder, Christian Tucci as CTO, and John Rasmussen, identified as a professor and co-inventor of the CXD hinge. This is the same technology line that traces back to Aalborg University’s Compact X-scissors Device, which won the 2018 WearRAcon Innovation Challenge.
