Operational Medicine Symposium (OPMED)

March 3, 2027 - March 4, 2027
OPMED 2027 San Antonion Texas March 3-4 exoskeleton report

The 9th Annual Operational Medicine Symposium (OPMED) will bring together about 1,200 senior medical officials, clinicians, researchers, and industry leaders from the Military Health System, the Department of War, federal agencies, and academia in San Antonio, TX, on March 3-4, 2027.

The sessions cover challenges that many exoskeleton developers are already working on. These include force health protection in extreme environments, readiness for large-scale combat operations, and the use of AI and new technology in operational medicine. Heavy loads and the strain of austere environments make musculoskeletal injuries a major threat to readiness. That puts injury prevention, load support, and faster return to duty at the center of OPMED’s discussions of warfighter survivability.

For exoskeleton and wearable robotics developers working in the military and medical markets, OPMED 2027 offers a chance to hear firsthand how military medicine is defining its needs, and to join the discussion on how new capabilities can support the warfighter.
