The 3rd Annual Exo Games will be held August 3–7, 2026, at ASTM International Headquarters in West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Sponsored by ASTM International’s Exo Technology Center of Excellence (ET CoE), the student competition is centered on emergency response and will challenge teams to design, build, and test self-contained exoskeletons against ASTM Committee F48 standards.

About: ASTM International’s ET CoE is holding the 3rd Annual Exo Games to expand student involvement and education in exo technologies. NIST is partnering with the ET CoE through a CRADA agreement to support exoskeleton metrology and student STEM involvement. This year’s games are centered on simulated emergency response activities, including law enforcement, firefighting, bomb squads, urban search and rescue, and EMT scenarios.

The competition is open to teams of students from one or multiple universities, colleges, and technical schools. Teams will design, build, and test a self-contained exoskeleton based on the published project specifications and compete across 10 specified challenges. ASTM says first- and second-place teams are eligible for cash prizes of $5,000 and $1,000, respectively.

Participation deadline:
Team Description Papers (TDPs) are due by April 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Dress code:
Casual. Closed-toe shoes required.
