High-Dose Walking Booster Program Is Feasible for People After Stroke: A Phase II Randomized Trial

This Stroke phase II pilot RCT tested a high-dose “walking booster” program (HiWalk)—43 hours of group-based walking/motor training over 3 weeks—versus usual care in 47 people 6 months to 8 years post-stroke. The main takeaway is feasibility: recruitment/retention and data collection were strong, attendance averaged ~91%, and adverse events were minor. Clinically, HiWalk improved walking self-efficacy at 1 month, but did not show clear overall walking-speed benefits. It supports the idea that high-dose gait practice delivered in the community can be feasible and may help “post-rehab” stroke survivors.

Applied Digital to Spin Out Cloud Business, Proposes Business Combination with EKSO to Launch ChronoScale

Ekso Bionics (EKSO) announced a non-binding term sheet to combine with Applied Digital’s cloud unit to form “ChronoScale,” a GPU-focused AI cloud compute company in which Applied Digital would own ~97% of the combined entity. Importantly for our space, Ekso says its exoskeleton business would continue operating, but the company also plans to keep exploring strategic transactions to sell all or substantially all of its current business as part of this process.

Thoughts: I see more and more the idea of creating a digital twin first, then using it to train an exoskeleton, and then, and only then, deploying the exoskeleton to the person. Do you think this will take off and become a normal pathway?
