Once upon a time, December was a quiet month for exoskeletons and wearable robotics. Not anymore. In the second week of December, we noticed:
- First-ever winter holiday sales on exoskeleton technology
- ExR restarts TikTok account with short-form videos, opening a new outreach channel that connects directly with younger buyers and tech enthusiasts
- A new field study on back-support exoskeletons for wine manufacturers, conducted from 2022, has concluded, showing visible benefits but also significant dropout over 3 years.
- AUXSYS – a powered hip-knee exoskeleton developer, has entered into the 2026 DIANA NATO Cohort
- Hypershell publishes 3rd party testing of their top-grade consumer-powered exoskeleton and includes a call to action for exo producers to work together on synchronizing the communication of performance metrics
- ASTM F48 concludes nearly three days of committee meetings
- Awards given within the community for medical devices, integration of occupational exoskeletons, and for volunteering on standards development
- No new job posts, but some of the ones from last week are still vacant
- Event Calendar

ExR Restarts the TikTok Account
I have restarted the Exoskeleton Report TikTok account, posting primarily short-form videos on occupational and consumer exoskeletons. If you don’t have a TikTok account, you can still view the most recent videos by just entering www.TikTok.com/@ExoskeletonReport in your browser.
Field Study on 33 Grapevine Pruners from 2022-2025
Between 2022 and 2025, under the impetus of the MSA du Languedoc, two ergonomists accompanied 33 trimmers to measure the concrete benefits of this equipment.
AUXSYS has been selected as part of the DIANA (NATO technology accelerator) 2026 Cohort
Hypershell Publishes Consumer Exoskeleton White Paper, Calling for Industry-Wide Transparency and Unified Testing Frameworks
Consumer exoskeletons often list performance metrics, but how are those numbers generated or verified? This white paper doesn’t have the answer to that, but it does include the results of 3rd-party testing and a call to action for producers and distributors to consider the value of aligning what they present.
2.5 Days of Standards Crafting During the 16th Committee-Wide ASTM F48 Meeting
This week, exoskeleton producers, users, and interested parties met for two and a half days (three days for executive committee members) virtually to discuss long-range planning, terminology, classification, performance, certification, and environmental considerations, recognition awards, as well as additional presentations from I Got Legs and the University of Waterloo. The meeting was open to all registered users, even those who are not part of ASTM Committee F48 on Exoskeleton and Exosuits.
