SUMMARY:SCRA Webinar: Are Exoskeletons for You?
DESCRIPTION:The South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) will put together a one-hour webinar on industrial exoskeletons from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time on September 29\, 2021\, titled: Are Exoskeletons for You? This will be an informative webinar led by Francesco Pochiro\, Innovation Manufacturing Engineer at BMW. The plan is for the webinar to be an overview of exoskeleton types\, their applications in different workplaces\, efficacy studies\, and return on investment (ROI) justifications. Francesco will also discuss EXO implementation strategies ranging from voluntary to mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE). “Prior to his current duties\, Francesco led innovation teams at Bosch and BMW. He introduced the first passive exoskeletons for associates during the assembly of BMW vehicles in the manufacturing lines.” \n“SCRA Industry Manager\, Catherine Hayes\, will discuss the EXO DEMO plans for industry to evaluate multiple commercial devices\, and a proposed industry PILOT to evaluate EXOs to reduce ergonomic risk in manufacturing.” \nRegistration: link
