SUMMARY:Presentation: Human-Centered Design of Exoskeletons
DESCRIPTION:The National Academies of Sciences\, Engineering\, and Medicine is hosting a free one-hour public session of the meeting of the Board on Human-Systems Integration. The topic of choice will be a discussion of a potential project on human-centered design principles for the development and application of powered and passive exoskeleton technology. \nThe discussion will look at what the future of work could look like? How can we keep improving labor-intensive activities that are known to lead to ergonomics-related worker risk for injuries? \nThe event will be led by Christopher Reid\, HFES – Human Factors and Ergonomics Society\, and Dr. William S. Marras from the Spine Research Institute\, The Ohio State University for The National Academies of Sciences\, Engineering\, and Medicine’s Board of Human Systems Integration (BOHSI).
