SUMMARY:Webinar: Implementation of Gait Training with Ekso Across the Stroke Rehab Continuum of Care
DESCRIPTION:Ekso Bionics will host a webinar on the Implementation of Gait Training with Ekso Across the Stroke Rehabilitation Continuum of Care. “MossRehab’s PT’s\, Erika Harold and Sarah Lamberton\, will be discussing implementation of robotic-assisted gait training with patients with a subacute CVA through several case examples. Through the presentation\, the clinicians will share their findings on the benefits of incorporating robotic-assisted gait training in the inpatient rehab setting\, will discuss the considerations of when they chose to incorporate the Ekso vs other robotic gait training devices and\, will present on how Ekso is utilized across the continuum of care at MossRehab.” \nThe Webinar will be led by Erika Harold\, PT\, DPT\, NCS; and Sarah Lamberton\, PT\, DPT. \nErika Harold received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in 2015. Erika initially began her PT career in acute care at the University of Maryland Medical Center. From 2017 to 2018\, Erika completed MossRehab’s PT neurological residency program and then received her NCS in 2019. Since 2018\, Erika has been a PT at MossRehab on the CVA acute inpatient rehab team. She became a certified Ekso user in 2019 and gained experience utilizing the Ekso with the following patient populations: TBI\, CVA\, and SCI. In June 2021\, Erika became a level 3 Ekso Trainer through Ekso Bionics. \nSarah Lamberton received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Drexel University in 2018 and has worked at MossRehab since. She started her PT career working in outpatient neurorehabilitation. She became a certified Ekso User in 2019 while working in outpatient. She then transitioned roles as an inpatient rotator gaining experience using the Ekso with TBI\, CVA\, and SCI. She is now a fixed staff therapist on the SCI program and involved with the locomotor committee at MossRehab. \nRegistration:\nEkso Bionics website. \nTime:\nMarch 3\, 2022; 9am PT  l  12pm ET

SUMMARY:Webinar: SAIF: Emerging safety technologies | The future of injury prevention is here
DESCRIPTION:SAIF\, Workers’ compensation insurance for Oregon (Work Life Oregon) presents a webinar on emerging safety technology for agricultural work. “Recent advances in technology have opened the door to never-before-available ways to improve workplace safety and health. This session explores several technologies that are showing the most promise in not only preventing injury\, but establishing a more efficient and productive workplace. You leave with a greater understanding of the benefits of this technology; where you can find more information on safety tech for your workplace; and how to assess operational readiness for safety tech in general.” \nAs part of the webinar\, Sarah Ballini-Ross will share her experience at combining the iAuditor with the Apex exosuit by HeroWear while vaccinating sheep and unloading meat packages. \n\n\nDate:\nThursday\, March 3\, 2022\n\n\n\nTime:\n10 to 11 a.m.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation:\nWebinar\n\n\n\nSpeakers:\n\nSarah Ballini-Ross\, Safety Innovation Project Coordinator | SAIF\nScott E. Clark\, Safety-Advancement & Innovation Consultant | SAIF \nRegistration: \nhttps://www.saif.com/trainings/live-webinars.html

SUMMARY:Implementation of Exoskeletons\, at Applied Ergonomics 2022 Pre-Conference Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Applied Ergonomics Conference 2022 will take place this March 21-24\, 2022 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando\, Florida. In addition to the conference\, there will be several pre-conference workshops held on Monday\, March 21\, including one on exoskeletons and wearable robotics. “Implementation of Exoskeletons” will run from 1 pm to 5 pm by the Automotive Exoskekleton Group (AExG). \nPresenters:\n  \n \nFrom left to right (image above)\, the facilitators of the workshop will be Marisol Barrero\, Amazon Web Services; David Brodie\, Cargill\, Inc.; Ryan Porto\, General Motors; Bill Billotte\, ASTM Exo Technology Center of Excellence; Dr. Samuel Reimer Ottobock\, and Matthew Marino\, HeroWear \nProgram:\nThe workshop will start with an overview of the state of the art of exoskeleton technology for industrial and occupational applications. This will be followed up by exoskeleton implementation best practices and examples on the organizational level by AExG members. Dr. Billotte will provide an update on the latest in exo technology standards and the foundational work on certification program(s). Finally\, Dr. Sam Reimer and Matthew Marino will lead attendees through an exercise on creating their very own exoskeleton implementation plan. \nThe goal is for participants to leave with an understanding of how to match the right exoskeleton to the ergonomic challenges faced by their workers. Attendees will also learn what methods can be used to assess exoskeleton effectiveness\, both via traditional ergonomics techniques and emerging technologies such as XR and wearable sensors. Approaches and techniques for conducting exoskeleton pilots and for planning and executing successful long-term exoskeleton implementation will be described and practiced as well. Participants will have an opportunity to begin writing their own exoskeleton implementation plan to take back to their organization. \nInformation & Registration:\nMore information on the Implementation of Exoskeletons Applied Ergonomics Pre-Conference Workshop can be found at the conference’s website. \nAbout AExG\n\nAExG is a Wearable Robotics Association sponsored\, industry inclusive group that supports the evolution of exoskeletons. Our vision is to promote quality of life through wearable technologies. We started this journey as a group of automotive manufacturers and are constantly evolving to include members from other industries who share our vision. AExG\, as reflective of our core values\, is open\, collaborative\, unbiased\, inclusive\, respectful\, constantly learning\, seeks continuous improvement\, conducts critical analysis\, and holds practical beliefs for exoskeleton applications.
