Bionik Laboratories
Bionic Laboratories began as a developer for the ARKE lower-body powered medical exoskeleton. It is a publically traded company OTCQB – U.S. Registered: BNKL.
On March 6, 2016, Bionik Laboratories Enters into Merger Agreement to Acquire Interactive Motion Technologies, Inc. (IMT), a spin-off from MIT. IMT specialized in wearables and exoskeletons for neurorehabilitation. Their main product line was the InMotion series Arm, Wrist and Hand rehabilitation devices in addition to a knee exoskeleton. IMT was founded in 1998 in Watertown Massachusetts, making it one of the older companies in the field.
For a while, Bionik Labs was one of the few exo companies to focus on both lower and upper body rehabilitation technology. Over time, however, the focus has shifted to hand and arm rehabilitation.
